The sensory journey of Tenuta di Cart continues and is enriched by a new, intense and profound expression: Ammonitico, a still wine made from 100% Pinot Noir, born at the foot of the Belluno Dolomites as a tribute to the land, its most ancient history and the authentic bond with the past.

The Tenuta di Cart project came to life in 2024 at the behest of Francesco Drusian, at the helm of the eponymous winery in the heart of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Hills. A path conceived to enhance a territory different from the winery’s place of origin, without ever overlapping with the sparkling wine tradition that has made the Drusian winery recognisable over time. Tenuta di Cart thus emerges as a space for exploration, where wines can take shape that express a new soul, always guided by listening to and respecting the land.
Following the Rosé sparkling wine Rose Mari, made from Pinot Noir grapes, and Villabianco XIX, a still wine from pure Pinot Blanc, the project now expands with a new chapter: Ammonitico, a red wine born in the estate-owned vineyards in Cart, in the municipality of Feltre (BL), within the Dolomiti IGT denomination.
Here the vines grow on soils rich in limestone and dolomitic rocks, in an unspoilt environment where the mountain sets the rhythm and time flows slowly. Ammonites, ancient fossils that once inhabited these lands, inspired the wine’s name: a direct reference to the memory of the earth and its millennia-old history, to what remains even as
everything changes.
The visual identity also reflects the spirit of the project. The label features the stylised outline of the mountain, a distinctive symbol of Tenuta di Cart, rendered in a powder-blue hue. The hand-torn white edge and the sealing wax closure further emphasise the artisanal dimension of the project, defined by slow gestures and attention to detail.
Vinification involves a 10-day maceration on the skins, followed by fermentation in stainless steel and 12 months of ageing in barriques, guiding the wine towards greater complexity without sacrificing freshness and balance. In the glass it shows a ruby-red colour with violet highlights; on the nose, notes of red fruit emerge alongside delicate hints of oak. The palate is enveloping and warm, with good savoury tension and soft tannins that carry the wine through the sip with natural ease.
With Ammonitico, Tenuta di Cart continues its exploration and enhancement of a unique territory shaped by mountains, rock, time and memory. A wine that does not seek to impress, but to endure.
