Drusian is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Hills and has been producing Valdobbiadene DOCG sparkling wine in various versions since 1988, from Brut Nature, with secondary fermentation in the bottle, to Dry passing through Extra Brut, Brut and Extra Dry.
We often welcome many people who come to visit us to learn about our history and taste our products, or they just stop by to purchase some wine.
In both cases, the question that sometimes arises is: “And now, how do I open this bottle correctly?“
Today we want to provide you with all the information for doing better this action.
First of all, remember that our wine should be served optimally after staying in the refrigerator at a temperature between 6 and 8 °C (43-46 °F) and should be tasted in a tulip-shaped glass, perfect to enhance the sparkling wine aromas and flavors (if you missed the article on the various types of glasses click here).
Once you have taken the bottle from the fridge, you can place it on the table and start removing the top of the capsule to reveal the cage and the cork.
At this point, untwist the cage tab clockwise until it is fully open, keeping your thumb tight over the cap: it must be removed together with the cage.
If one hand holds the cap firmly with the cage, the other must be placed at the bottom of the bottle and will begin to rotate until the latter opens. The correct inclination for the operation is at 45° in order to avoid wine leakage due to internal pressure.
When the cork pushes, continuing to hold it tight, gently remove it without making a bang!
Hold the position for a few seconds, and then you can serve your sparkling wine, preferably always keeping the bottle at the base and avoiding resting your neck on the edge of the glass. Cheers!
